Promises of the Program
“Now we go out to our fellows and repair the damage done in the past. We attempt to sweep away the debris which has accumulated out of our effort to live on self-will and run the show ourselves.” – The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous p.76
Since inception, Solutions has made it a priority to collaborate with any entity or group of people that come into contact with our clients.
These parties include the Denton County Sheriff’s Department, City of Denton Police Department, various judges, various attorneys, Child Protective Services, Denton County Specialty Courts, Department of Justice, Denton County Adult Probation, and so many more.
The beauty of our collaborations is that we are knowledgeable of the workings of the court system and we have a high number of contacts in each field. This means that if someone comes to us seeking services, and they have substance related charges, we know exactly what to do to guide them through their legal situation AND their sobriety at the same time.
Having that peace of mind is invaluable. Being somewhere that you’re able to be taken care of and well-informed removes a large amount of the fear that being in an uncertain situation yields. Alleviating that fear allows the client to focus on their recovery and break the legal cycle of their addiction. While it doesn’t mean all their legal troubles just disappear, it does mean that they’ll be able to weather the storm easier and with an educated support system by their side.
Three main goals
- Compliance with the court system and requirements
- Act as a liaison between the court, probation, attorneys, treatment, and the client
- Work side-by-side with the client’s attorney for the best possible outcome
Structure of the Court Program
- Expert Court Testimony
- Mitigation Packet
- Drug and Alcohol Evaluation
- Court Evaluation
- Jail Interviews and/or Evaluation
