Solutions of North Texas is a non-profit organization seeking a licensed counselor to expand services in our Intensive and Supportive Outpatient Program. Counselor will facilitate educational groups for the IOP and SOP, as well as provide assessment and individual counseling for clients with Substance Use Disorders.
In addition to conducting nightly sessions of IOP and SOP educational curriculum, the counselor will be responsible for initial assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and discharge planning of IOP and SOP clients when needed. The counselor will also provide individual counseling on an as needed basis and participate in treatment team reviews. The counselor will work in conjunction with other Solutions staff to ensure effective treatment and maintain documentation concerning client development in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Current Texas licensure as LCDC or LPC.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in human services field
Have a strong working knowledge of 12-Step programs and the Basic Text of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Demonstrate competency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing
Uses knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria and symptomology concerning Substance Use Disorders,
and with co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
Familiarity with ASAM criteria
Salary commensurate with experience.
